Masters Awards Luncheon

The Masters Award recognizes the exceptional efforts of a construction team in executing the process of completing a project.  This award is meant to recognize the role of the constructor. The Masters Award was created to bring a sharper focus to the high degree of professionalism and skill in our industry.  The Masters Award is presented in three different categories: $1 Million - $5 Million, $5 Million to $10 Million and Over $10 Million.

Rudy Ruettiger of Henderson, Nevada is the keynote speaker for the luncheon. Against all odds on a gridiron in South Bend, Indiana, Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, in twenty-seven seconds, carved his name into history books as perhaps the most famous graduate of the University of Notre Dame. The son of an oil refinery worker and the third of 14 children, Rudy rose from valleys of discouragement and despair to the pinnacles of success. It took years of fierce determination to overcome obstacles and criticisms, yet Rudy achieved his first dream - to attend Notre Dame and play football for the Fighting Irish. As fans cheered "RU-DY, RU-DY," he sacked the quarterback in the last 27 seconds of the only play in the only game of his college football career.

Construction Industry Reception
The Build Iowa Award was initiated in 1989 as a vehicle to honor MBI members and to bring public attention to excellence in the construction industry. Each year, the Build Iowa Award is presented to a general contractor or an associate member who best exemplifies the tenets of our organization; Skill, Responsibility and Integrity. The nominees are judged by the way they have performed both within the construction community and in their communities as well. Chad Willett of Columbus, Ohio is this year's keynote speaker for the event. Chad jolts organizations and individuals, assisting them with their creativity, which allows for a competitive advantage over one's competition. A member of the prestigious Screen Actors Guild, successful entrepreneur, speaker and coach, Chad bridges the gap between the arts, and business, to help audiences maximize their creative potential. His book "Smash the Box" SMASHES the way books are written: pages are out of order, no table of contents, no page numbers, etc. Chad's presentation - Smash The Box - will have a direct impact on your team's culture, morale, productivity and retention rates.
