The MBI Training Vault Has Officially Launched!
The day that so many MBI members have been waiting for is here...the day when all training records can be kept in the same place!  No more endless spreadsheets, piles of file folders, and boxes in the dreaded storage room.  MBI has the solution to all of those paperwork nightmares with the new MBI Training Vault.

The MBI Training Vault is a value added member service
designed to make the process of tracking and documenting training records easy, organized, accurate and accessible. MBI encourages member firms and their employees to review the packet of material that they received and begin utilizing Training Vault soon to assure all of your records are kept safe and secure in one place.

2015 Construction Golf Classic & Smoker Was a Success Once Again!
There was a full complement of golfers that attended the 16th Annual Construction Golf Classic and Smoker at the prestigious Glen Oaks Country Club.   The Construction Golf Classic and Smoker has always provided a great opportunity to mix a little business with pleasure and this year's event did not disappoint.

This event would not be possible if it were not for the support of the sponsors. We would like to thank our corporate sponsors - Holmes Murphy & Associates, Merchants Bonding Company, the Skold Companies, Seedorff and Architectural Wall Systems.

We also would like to thank Beisser Lumber Company and Midwest Builders' Casualty Group for their sponsorship of the brunch and post-golf awards reception.

We would also like to recognize Forrest and Associate for the cigar sponsorship and King's Materials for being the beverage cart sponsor. Also, Star Equipment Ltd. stepped up once again this year as a Hole-in-One sponsor, as well as a new hole-in-one sponsor - BTC Capital Management.

Finally, we would like to thank all the Hole Challenge Sponsors and Hole Sponsors for their support this year. Again, this event would not be possible without the industry wide support we see each year.

Shoot Birdies of a Different Sort - Sign Up Today for the Sporting Clay Builders' Classic
The 3rd Annual MBI-PAC Sporting Clay Builders' Classic will continue on the great MBI tradition of bringing together industry colleagues for a day of construction camaraderie.   Also, the Sporting Clay Builders' Classic will be for the benefit of the MBI-PAC and our continued efforts to support pro-business, pro-construction policymakers.

For the Builders' Classic, teams of five shooters will test their shooting accuracy and skills using a Sporting Clays format. This challenging clay target game is designed to simulate field shooting, in which participants are presented with a wide variety of targets.

There will be two separate events: the Eastern Iowa event at Highland Hideaway Hunting in Riverside on Wednesday, September 23th and the Central Iowa event will be held at the New Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee on the next day, Thursday, September 24th.

There will be door prizes, gifts, great food and beverages for all. Also, there are awards for the top scoring teams. Finally, there will be a flurry challenge in which everyone can participate and a shooting demonstration by two of the nation's best marksmen. Check out these videos to see their skills (both of these guys were featured on "Impossible Shots":

To ensure your spot at the event, register by clicking HERE. (Please note that there are separate registration links for the Eastern Iowa event and the Central Iowa event.)

Also, there are many sponsorships available in each location to market your company.  To read about the various sponsorship opportunities for this or other MBI events, please

Double Your Money for ISU and UNI!
MBI members have a unique opportunity to support Iowa State University and University of Northern Iowa students and double their investment in the process. Through the Dollar for Dollar Scholarship Fundraising Campaign, MBI is matching every dollar contributed, which will support students in the ISU Construction Engineering program and the UNI Construction Management program, many of whom we hope are future employees of member firms. The MBI Board of Directors has made a commitment to a "dollar for dollar match," up to $500,000, for funds raised during this scholarship campaign, which will conclude on December 31, 2015.

To assure MBI members receive value with their contribution, MBI has established a recognition program for those who contribute to the scholarship campaign. Every scholarship applicant will be provided a scholarship recognition portfolio that identifies contributors and the levels in which those contributions were made. A copy of the recognition portfolio will also be distributed to the MBI membership.  In addition to the scholarship recognition portfolio, contributors will be recognized at the 2016 Annual Winter Conference and via multiple MBI communication sources.

MBI encourages members to make an investment in the future of Iowa's commercial construction industry by contributing to the Dollar for Dollar Scholarship Fundraising Campaign.
