The Master Builders of Iowa recognize members' accomplishments through awards programs that highlight excellence in industry initiatives and that represent the tenets of our Association: Skill - Integrity - Responsibility.  Each year, the MBI recognition programs are sought after by the best in the Iowa's commercial construction industry.  The awards  announced at the MBI Annual Winter Conference February 24 - 25th can be found on the MBI website.  Be sure to visit the link to find out who won!

Remember to Submit Your Master Builder Designation Hours  

The MBI Annual Winter Conference was loaded with opportunities to capture Master Builder Designation (MBD) credits, so we want to remind you to submit the course completion forms  to MBI.  If you attended the Winter Conference and are not enrolled in the MBD program, complete the application  and return to MBI.  All Master Builder Designation forms can be submitted to Tom Fulcher at tfulcher@mbionline.com.

Iowa House Set to Debate Reduction in Statute of Repose
This week, the Iowa House is set to debate a bill that will reduce Iowa's statute of repose from 15 years to 10 years on claims attributable to latent defects of real property.  If you have not already contacted your Representative in the Iowa House, please do so immediately.  It is important to get as many contacts into the Iowa House as possible prior to this bill being debated.  Through the Engage MBI grassroots program, you can easily generate an email to your legislator.  Please click here to generate an email correspondence to your House member.  Take action today!!
Punta Cana 2015
Looking ahead at the weather forecast, it looks like the folks that spent time down in the Dominican did their best to bring some warmer temps back to Iowa.

A group of about 80 MBI members and their guests spent six wonderful days south of the border in Punta Cana as an extension of the MBI Annual Winter Conference at the end of February.  Every three years, MBI offers a conference extension to an out of country location that entices attendees with sand and warmer weather.   We invite you to visit the Punta Cana photo gallery to see for yourself what great times the excursion had in store for attendees.  Don't miss the next excursion that will be held 2018!

IowaBidDate.com Helps Identify Possible Bid Dates
A newly released service from the Construction Update Network will allow owner representatives like architects, engineers and construction managers an opportunity to take the guessing work out of securing a potential bid date.

A public website - www.IowaBidDate.com - was unveiled at the MBI Membership Meeting this past February as a free service to anyone who wants to view the site.  Users can visit the site as often and whenever they want to look at potential open bid dates.  The site lists all existing project bid dates for those projects in the Construction Update Network, and categories by owner type; project type; project cost; county and state.

MBI is excited about the site in that it will help owner representatives name bid dates that are spread out more evenly and avoids situations in which a project is set to compete for bidders of other projects.  Be sure to check out www.IowaBidDate.com today!
