On behalf of MBI's Convention & Travel Committee we would like to invite you to attend the Master Builders of Iowa's "Out of Country Excursion" outing to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic scheduled for February 26 - March 3, 2015.  The Association has secured a block of rooms at the all-inclusive Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

It's hard to believe that soon it will be three years since the last MBI Annual Convention extended to an out-of-country location.  This year's 5-night convention trip combines business with pleasure, and has long been one of the Association's most popular activities.

Over the years, the Construction Golf Classic and Smoker has grown into the premiere fundraiser for the MBI-PAC. The vision of the "Smoker" has evolved from a simple political fundraiser to where now the event brings together construction leaders from throughout the State of Iowa for a day of great golf and unparalleled construction camaraderie. Those who have participated in the past would agree that the Smoker is unmatched in how it brings together the leaders in Iowa's construction industry.

The 15th Annual Construction Golf Classic and Smoker is scheduled for Monday, August 25th. There will be a morning brunch before golf and a wonderful post golf reception with great food and refreshments. During the golf event, all participants will be treated to complimentary beverages, food and of course, cigars. And as in years past, the event will be held at the prestigious Glen Oaks Country Club. The 11th class of MB EYE on the Future has been selected and will begin meeting in September with a six month program in leadership, presentation skills and an introduction to the Master Builders of Iowa.  We would like to CONGRATULATE the individuals listed below for being selected for this year's class!  Over 170 leaders have been through the increasingly popular program and interest continues to grow each year.  The participants are nominated by management and then careful consideration of their applications is made by a selection committee before each class is selected.

The UNI Construction Management Club is holding their 1st Annual Golf Outing on Friday, September 5th at the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.  The tournament will be a 4-person best ball and golfers can register as an individual or as a foursome.  Golfing fee is $65/person, which includes course fees, cart and lunch.  The CM Club is asking for all registrations to be in by August 15th!  They are also looking for sponsors for their event.  Sponsorship money will be put towards national construction management competitions, jobsite visits and travel expenses to conventions.  They are looking for Gold Level Sponsorships at $500, Hole Sponsorships at $300 and prize donations that will be raffled off following the outing.
