Water Energy Nexus
Tuesday, October 13, 5:30 - 7:30 pm
This program will examine the interrelationship between water and energy usage. Join us to follow a drop of water from water provider through end user and into waste treatment facility, discussing all the energy that is consumed along the way.

Presenters from Missouri American Water and the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District will examine the challenges and opportunities that the water-energy nexus presents in delivering approximately 160 million gallons of water per day to approximately one million St. Louis County residents.

Benchmarking Blitz
Celebrate ENERGY STAR Day at Missouri's first LEED Certified Brewery!
Tuesday, October 27, 3:30 - 5:30 pm ENERGY STAR Day!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is an online, interactive energy management tool that allows you to measure and track your building's energy and water consumption, identify investment priorities, and verify improvements over time- a process called energy benchmarking. All building types benefit from benchmarking; it's the first step towards saving energy and money!

Join the USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter and Missouri Interfaith Power & Light for a Benchmarking Blitz
on October 27 to get hands-on assistance using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and celebrate ENERGY STAR day at Missouri's first LEED Certified Brewery - Urban Chestnut's Grove Brewery & Bierhall. Attendees are asked to bring a laptop and a few pieces of building information. Register by October 20 to receive assistance collecting historic energy data!

Come early to join the Sierra Club and allies in support of energy efficiency in St. Louis County and enjoy a tour of Urban Chestnut's LEED Certified Grove Brewery & Bierhall. The Sierra Club event starts at 1:30 pm, and the tour begins at 2:00 pm.

Volunteer at the Benchmarking Blitz!
Tuesday, October 27, 3:30 - 5:30 pm
Volunteers at the Benchmarking Blitz will support building representatives to use ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. Experience with the free, online tool is required. Participants can self-report their participation for 2 GBCI CE hours in the volunteer category.

ASHRAE St. Louis October Event

Monday, October 12, 2015, 10:15 am - 1:10 pm
The ASHRAE St. Louis Chapter's October Event will include presentations on ASHRAE's Building Energy Labeling Program, "Building Energy Quotient" (bEQ), and Integrating Indoor Air Quality and Energy Efficiency in Buildings.

The Building Energy Labeling Program presentation will provide an overview of the bEQ program, compare it to other building certification programs, identify the benefits of certification, and summarize the current status of the bEQ program and plans for the future.

The second presentation will discuss
the significance of indoor air quality in terms of its impact on health and productivity and associated costs; the inseparable linkage between indoor air quality and building energy demands, including examples of efficient technologies for maintaining good indoor air quality; and the need for an approach to building research, design, and operation that recognizes this connection.
