Thank you to our #GivingTuesday Donors!

Many thanks to the generous donors who supported us on Giving Tuesday! The support of our donors, sponsors, and members makes our work to transform the built environment possible.
We are much more than a member group or a professional organization. Along with providing valuable education and networking opportunities, we provide a wide range of community projects, like our Green Schools Quest, the LEED Community Project, and our Scholarship Program. Throughout December, we'll be reflecting on our community programs and the members and partners that make them possible. Watch our Facebook page for updates, and remember that y our support makes this important work of providing everyone with access to green buildings and green communities possible!

Chapter Board of Directors Election Results

Congratulations to the following Chapter members who have been elected to the Board of Directors- Tim Gaidis, Jen Kissinger, Kim Eilerts and James Dice. Three elected seats were available, and Tim Gaidis and Jen Kissinger were elected. James Dice & Kim Eilerts tied with exactly the same number of votes - a first in USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter history! At the Board of Directors' regular meeting, the board determined that both candidates are valuable to the organization and created an additional board advisor seat. Thanks to our outgoing board members: Jaime Kelley, Lynn Larkin, Luis Naranjo, and Nancy Rodney. We appreciate your contributions and service to our mission!

Perspectives on LEED version 4

As we shared in our last e-newsletter, USGBC recently announced that it will allow projects to register under the LEED 2009 rating system until October 31, 2016, extending the original deadline by over a year.
Nadav Malin, USGBC LEED Faculty and president of Building Green, Inc, recently shared his thoughts on the change, reminding readers that LEED is a leadership standard. In his words "If we wait until the market is ready, what are we transforming?"
