Retired U.S. Marine Corp Colonel Mark "Puck" Mckleby was asked by the former Joint Chiefs of Staff to develop a new American Grand Strategy. He determined that sustainability needs to become our national strategic imperative if the nation is to meet the challenges and pursue the opportunities of the 21st Century. In this presentation, Mykleby will discuss a framework for implementing sustainability policy that connects macro policies with Main Street, USA. In this in-depth seminar, school designers will describe the challenging yet engaging process of LEED certification, requiring involvement from and heightened collaboration between designers, constructors, faculty and building owners/operators.
