Together, we call these projects Community Build. Support these programs, in any amount, on Give STL Day!

Applications open for
2014-15 Green Schools Quest!
Green Schools Quest We are again challenging public and private schools within our Chapter territory (Missouri and Southern Illinois) to devise and implement, with the help of Green Mentors, the most creative, effective and no or low cost sustainable practices for their schools- because where we learn matters!

Each school participating in the Green Schools Quest will be encouraged to form a Green Team. Teams may be a single classroom, a student club, a grade level, or an entire school. Each team will select a low or no cost project to begin in October 2014 and conclude in March 2015.

A USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter Green Mentor will be assigned to assist to each Green Team. The mentor will help with ideas, documentation, and community resources. Each Green Team will document their project's impacts and submit outcomes for judging in March 2015.

Cash Awards ($750 for first place, $500 for second place, $250 for third place) and trophies will be presented to three participants in each category: elementary school, middle/junior high school, and high school.

Applications for schools and green mentors opened on May 1st! Visit our website to learn more and apply.

Congratulations to the 2013-2014 winners! Photos of the winners and our Green Schools event are on our Facebook page.

Take the 25 x 20 Benchmarking Pledge!

The St. Louis High Performance Building Initiative is challenging the region to reduce energy consumption 25% by the year 2020!

The first step to reducing energy use: figuring out where you stand and how you stack up using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. The process of comparing your performance to that of your peers is called Benchmarking.

All buildings benefit from benchmarking: businesses, non-profits, congregations, schools, governments, etc.

Learn more & take the pledge today at www.25x20.org!

Last Chance: Take the LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Course before the exam changes!
The LEED Credential exams will integrate LEED version 4 content starting in July 2014. Our May 8-9 LEED Green Associate Exam Prep Course is the Chapter's last live course offering before these changes go into effect!

USGBC-Missouri Gateway's two full-day (16 hours green associate logototal) LEED Green Associate Exam Prep course is designed to prepare participants for the LEED Green Associate exam.  Skilled instructors will provide an introduction to LEED, discuss methods of sustainable project delivery and green building principals, and offer test taking tips.

It's not to late to register- visit our website to learn more.
