We have turned a corner toward equality in this country, and there is no turning back.

Year-End Tax Planning Amid an Uncertain Tax Landscape
As the end of 2012 approaches, there is considerable uncertainty regarding next year's tax landscape. Lawmakers face a "fiscal cliff" of tax increases, deficit reduction requirements, and federal spending cuts scheduled to take effect on January 1.
 Changes in income tax rates will be an important topic of debate when Congress reconvenes after the election. Absent Congressional action, taxpayers face significant increases in income tax rates as a result of (a) the scheduled expiration of the Bush-era tax cuts and (b) new healthcare-related taxes imposed by the Affordable Care Act of 2010.

The Holly Jolly Ball funds the GLBT Leadership Education & Advocacy Program (LEAP).
LEAP was created by the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce to support youth and nurture the development of leaders in the GLBT community. LEAP awards educational scholarships to undergraduate GLBT and Allied students, who exhibit leadership potential, demonstrate strong academic abilities, and who are actively involved in school and community organizations. In addition to supporting higher education for GLBT/A youth, LEAP serves as a resource for leadership development, business mentoring and internships in and for the GLBT community. |
