We can not stress enough:  you MUST bring with you all completed forms to receive your schedule and proceed through the Orientation stations.

Orientation begins in the auditorium. Assigned sessions are:  Seniors Wed., Aug 7 from 9-11:30; Juniors, Wed Aug 7 from 12:30-3:00; Sophomores, Thurs Aug 8 from 9-11:30; Freshmen, Thurs Aug 8th from 12:30- 3:00.

Special Note:  If unable to attend and having another family/student pick up materials, there must be a written note giving permission and the required paperwork is also still required.  Only cash and checks will be accepted; if using cash, exact change is preferred.  Any student with text or library books that have not been cleared will not be given their schedule.  The books/replacement copies/proof of a replacement purchase/payment for the item will be accepted in the auditorium foyer with Ms. J. Johnson.

A make-up session will be held on Mon Aug 12th from 9-11:30am, that starts in  the main office.

PTO Update
 Why join the PTO?
The Ponte Vedra High School Parent Teacher Organization provides funds for academic programs, technology purchases, and school improvements. The PTO seeks to fill the gap when state funding is not available for programs and resources. Every dollar donated to PTO goes to support the students and staff of Ponte Vedra High School. As parents, we need to give the same consideration to financially supporting our children's academics as we do to their other activities. For more information on the important services the PTO provides and for a membership form, please view the PTO pages in the orientation packet.

The PVHS PTO offers several membership options. All members will receive two PTO discount cards and one copy of the PVHS Student Directory. (PTO membership is the only way to obtain a student directory.) The membership enrollment deadline is September 27, 2013.

Attention Parents of All Student Athletes:
Why You Should Join the Booster Club
The St. Johns County School District does not allocate funds to any County high school athletic program. The twenty-two sports at Ponte Vedra High School are funded in part by the Athletic Department in the form of proceeds from gate revenue, facility rentals and contributions. The remainder of the funds (roughly 85% of the total annual cost) required to support the athletics at PVHS comes directly from the General Fund of the PV Sharks Booster Club. Each individual sport is funded by its own Booster Club for that sport and operates under the umbrella of the PV Sharks Booster Club. While contributions to each individual sport fund the majority of the expenses, the General Booster Fund plays a critical role in supporting common athletic needs at Ponte Vedra High School. Major projects requiring General Fund support for the 2013-2014 school year include a new scoreboard for the football field, the construction of a new practice field, resurfacing the tennis courts, field maintenance and supplies/training for the athletic trainer. Annually, general obligations have exceeded $30,000.

Perhaps the most important support is provided by supplementing the Athletic Department funds when the money runs out and transportation and officials still need to be obtained to finish out the school year. These supplements range from $25,000 to $30,000 annually.

Your support through membership and other fundraising activities of the PV Sharks Booster Club is essential to keeping our athletes on the field. We encourage you to join the booster club and become part of the support behind our young athletes.

PV SHARKS BOOSTER CLUB MEMBERSHIP 2013/14 is available on our web site www.PVSharksBoosters.com.
