This is a sensory friendly skating event
for children with autism and their families.

and to the North River Rolling Renegades (Roller Derby Team)
for being there to help the children.

Skating instructor Joseph L. Wigley said
Stardust encourages and supports all ages and skill levels.
"It doesn't matter if they're shy or not good at team sports. Every child is a champion",
he added. Wigley said the rink hosts an annual children's figure-skating championship,
converting the building into an Olympic-like venue.
With childhood obesity at epidemic proportions in the United States and physical education cutbacks in many schools Wigley said "Children need a place to go, get active and have fun.
