Letters From The House
This month, we wrap up the year with a red ribbon and hint of things to come in 2013. We wish wonderful holidays for you and yours (including all those furry friends) and the happiest, healthiest year ahead!

WORLD AIDS DAY The Wright House Wellness Center celebrated another year of solidarity with HIV-positive people and those living with AIDS across the globe including nearly 6,000 in Central Texas. The first World AIDS Day was observed by all UN Member States December 1, 1988.
Earlier, that very same year, a small group of People Living with AIDS and their caregivers banded together to form what would become The Wright House.
So...along with World AIDS Day, we are about to celebrate a very special anniversary and will share more about that with you in the New Year. In the meantime, thanks for nearly a quarter century of letting us serve you and yours or helping us offer care and compassion to Central Texans living with or at risk of HIV and other chronic illnesses.

As always, we are grateful to all of our donors and share our most recent with you here:

...has generously provided a substantial grant for software to facilitate organizational development and communications. We are most grateful for this investment in the work of The Wright House to the ultimate benefit of our clients and others we serve. Established by Miss Johnie Elizabeth Wright in 1954, the Lola Wright Foundation supports arts and culture, children and youth, community development, education, health, religion, social and human services, and sports and recreation. The Foundation has been a welcome and important source of support for so very many Central Texas nonprofits. Thank you!

Kudos to ISES and NACE for naming The Wright House as beneficiary of its December social. What a fantastic evening hosted by these talented event specialists at Maggie Mae's, which donated the space for the evening. We thank all the members who donated their time and energy on making the party festive and delicious, donated at the door and provided gift card incentives for The Wright House clients. With a small staff such as ours, these kinds of events can be incredibly helpful. |

First we had Black Friday-a huge shopping day to help us work off those extra calories from Thanksgiving-followed by Small Business Saturday, in an effort to remind us of those local businesses that are serve us on a more personal level. Next came Cyber Monday, originated as the day many of us went to work and ordered gifts online before home computers became common.
Did you miss Giving Tuesday this year? Premised on the idea that "We have a day
for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals....Wouldn't it be great to have a day for giving back?" #GivingTuesday™ is a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. Working through Network for Good, it celebrates and encourages online donations in support of charitable activities the Tuesday dafter Thanksgiving. No worries if you missed Giving Tuesday this year! You can donate online via our website at www.thewrighthouse.org any day of the week. Please make this truly a season of giving, that we may help others on your behalf!

DO YOU BELIEVE?
All we want this holiday is a cure! And we believe it is on the way. In the meantime, increased stability--the goal of our Case Management efforts--and our Prevention programs are key.
They work and we are grateful to all who make them possible!
For this stocking and other AIDS related holiday items, including ornaments, tee shirts for you and your dog, as well as cards like this one to the right, search websites such as zazzle.com and cafepress.com. |

DO WE HAVE A MATCH?
If you make a personal gift this year, your company may very well match that amount! Some
corporations even match 2:1 or more. This is a wonderful way to S-T-R-E-T-C-H your giving dollars and make them mean even more to even more of those with HIV/AIDS and/or Hepatitis C.
Please contact The Wright House with match information or questions.
DON'T FORGET!
