National Wildlife Federation
Lafourche-Terrebonne Restoration Summit for Non-Governmental Organizations

Friday, November 21
Nicholls State University,
Plantation Suite, Ballroom

ROR Logo Small
Restore or Retreat and National Wildlife Federation, representing the Mississippi River Delta Restoration Campaign, invite you to the 4th Summit on Coastal Restoration in Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes. The fourth Summit will build on our past efforts to connect NGO capacity with the restoration priorities, funding possibilities, and ongoing projects in the parishes.

Our theme "What have you done for me lately: RESTORE-ing Regionally" will focus on how impending RESTORE dollars and the 2017 Master Plan will shape how Lafourche and Terrebonne's coastal landscape will look in the near and long-term futures, and how you can play a valuable part in the planning and implementation process.

ROR Visits Wax Lake Outlet with Diversion Expert Panel
The field trip was held the day before the group's third meeting in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Denise Reed stands on the "new" Louisiana to address the field trip participants.
Restore or Retreat hosted a field trip to to the Wax Lake Outlet in October for the Diversion Expert Panel, as well as CPRA, NOAA NFWF and Audubon members.

The Diversion Panel held its meeting in Baton Rouge in the following days, and the purpose of the third meeting of the expert panel was to discuss the broader effects of diversions, existing and planned coastal Louisiana monitoring efforts, and the expectations for available information from fish and shellfish modeling.

CPRA and NOAA leadership also attended, as well as representatives of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and Louisiana and national staff members of the National Audubon Society.  ROR would like to thank the field members from LDWF who participated in trip, as well as CPRA, LDWF and Audubon who provided boats.

For more information on the panelists and the meeting agendas and presentations, click here.
Bren Haase of CPRA describes the delta building process and the opportunities it represents in LA.
We are grateful for all of those supporters who have renewed their membership support of Restore or Retreat.  And we hope to extend the support of others, so we can continue to work daily on saving this irreplaceable region!

Sincerely,

Simone Maloz
