FHS Choir Pop Show this Friday, Saturday

The FHS Choirs will present Broadway and Beyond, their annual high school pop show, on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17, at 7 pm in the FHS auditorium. The show will feature all five performing choirs in songs from movies and Broadway shows. The show will offer 45 solos, duets and trios over the two nights. Both nights feature different soloists; the choir numbers are the same both evenings. Songs presented by the choirs include: Motown the Musical, Popular, There is Nothing Like a Dame, Bellas Finals (from Pitch Perfect), and Happy. All five choirs will perform Seize the Day to open the program. Other combined numbers include the boys in Greased Lightnin' and the girls in a medley from Mamma Mia. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the door beginning at 6 pm on show nights. Janwin Overstreet-Goode and Mike Tyer are the choir directors. |

6 sixth graders awarded for Character
|  Six 6th graders were honored with Character Counts Winners for April. The character trait was responsibility. The six include Max Mims, Alice Nguyen, Santiago Genty, Mason Miller, David Jones, and Bailey McDaniel. |
Leadership serves as theme for breakfast

WWB Student Council had a great Leadership Breakfast recently. Their guests were Deputy Superintendent Thad Roher, Senator Larry Taylor, Councilman Steve Rockey, FHS Leader Brandon Bower, and PTO co-chair Heather Martin. They shared stories of leadership with the Student Council representatives and then enjoyed donuts and kolaches.

Community Education 2014 Summer Youth Program
|
|
The four-week FISD Community Education Summer Program for children and students ages 4-15 years of age begins Monday, June 9 at Bales Intermediate School, 211 Stadium Drive in Friendswood.
Except for tennis, camps and classes meet for 1.5-3 hours per day, Monday-Thursday, for one week.
New camps begin each week and each camp has a separate age range for participants. Students are not required to live in Friendswood to participate in this program.
This summer, Community Ed camp sessions are offered June 9-12, June 16-19, June 23-26 and July 7-10. FISD is closed the week of July 4.
Unless stated otherwise in the course description, camps are coed.

FISD students at quilt show

Lakeview Quilt Show. A few of the high school Quest students entered
their quilts at the "Legacy of Love" Quilt Show being held at
Victory Camp at Living Stones Church in Alvin.
The show will run Friday
from 10-5, and Saturday from 10-4.
There are over 230 quilts to see and
several award winning quilters from all over the Houston area will be
displaying their work.
There is an entry fee of $7.
