Revised Leadership Academy offers high-energy, interactive week for participants
It's not easy leading a congregation. As a minister, how do you balance your personal life and the pressures of your calling, while providing courageous leadership to your congregation? Discover the answer to this question and many others at Hope Partnership for Missional Transformation's newly revised Leadership Academy, Sept.19 - 23 in Indianapolis. "Whether you are transforming an existing congregation, launching a new church, starting a social ministry or serving as an interim pastor, the Leadership Academy is the perfect event for you," says Terrell L. McTyer, minister of New Church Strategies for Hope Partnership and church planter. A graduate of the Leadership Academy, McTyer has experienced firsthand the effects of ministering a congregation. "There are times when your spirit soars and then there are moments when you feel isolated," he says. "The Leadership Academy is a safe place to learn and discuss topics that are relevant to their calling, while discovering ways to cope with current challenges." This year's theme is Empowering Courageous Leaders. The Leadership Academy will be high-energy, interactive and offer a variety of thought-provoking topics relevant to all ministers - no matter what stage of ministry they are facing. Topics include: - Multiplying leadership
- Bi-vocational leadership
- Branding
- Authentic leadership
- Legal issues for new church
- Personal convictions
- Targeted demographics
- Entrepreneurial ministry
- Discussions in the popular TED Talk style.
It is not too late to register for the 2016 Leadership Academy. For more information about the Leadership Academy or to register visit www.hopepmt.org/la.

Servant Leadership Training
Disciples Volunteering supports a wide variety of mission opportunities and service projects with congregations, regions, and ecumenical partners. This support is made possible through the incredible service of long-term volunteers, who often spend a month or more on location. A joint training is being offered Sept 27 - Oct 6, in partnership with the United Church of Christ and the Church of the Brethren, to prepare servant leaders for mission. Read more here and contact Josh Baird if this training might be for you.
