Heavenly Manna more than food
by Rev. Brian Daly

Distribution of burritos on a San Diego beach
The Pacific Beach Christian Church, located in San Diego, launched a feeding ministry two and a half years ago that has begun transforming the church. Every Wednesday morning volunteers gather bright and early to begin preparing 100 breakfast burritos to take out into our beach community to feed the homeless and hungry. The name for this ministry, "Heavenly Manna", was inspired by some of those in the congregation who had been homeless themselves and knew what it was to wake up cold and hungry. Their thought was that to be given a nice warm breakfast burrito would be like receiving manna from heaven!

Once the burritos are rolled, placed in portable warmers and prayed over in the parking lot, another team of volunteers hits the street to find people where they are waking up to give them a nice warm burrito. Read more

Host a Disciples Peace Fellowship Peace Intern
by Phoebe Spier
Those of us, who as youth, experienced the life-changing influence of a DPF Peace Intern, or those who have witnessed their amazing affect on one or more youth whom we love, know that Peace Interns are an invaluable resource for camps, conferences and others ministering to young people.Unfortunately, not every regional leader and camp director has witnessed this amazing program in action and we need your help:

Please spread the word! Tell your regional ministers, camp directors and other leaders about the Disciples Peace Fellowship Peace Internship, and encourage them to apply to host an intern this summer!
