The Christian Church Foundation distributed a record $9.5 million to Disciples-related ministries and other charities in 2015 from permanent funds and other donor-directed gifts. It also received a record $8.7 million in new permanent fund gifts.
"This is a sign of hope as people who love the church provide the resources through legacy gifts to support the future ministries of congregations, regions, general ministries and other Disciples-related witnesses," said Foundation President Gary Kidwell. "It is an honor for the Foundation to be entrusted with these gifts and to stand in the donors' shoes in perpetuity."
The Foundation closed 2015 with $600 million in assets, which includes $398.1 million owned by Disciples ministries and invested through the Foundation. Read more
Global Ministries offers experience for seminarians
 The Division of Overseas Ministries/Global Ministries is offering another unique experience for Disciples seminarians to be engaged in God's Mission in the world through our Summer Intern Program, June 6 through August 12, 2016.
The intern must be a candidate for ordained ministry in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and must have completed two years of full-time study. The Division of Overseas Ministries/Global Ministries will provide each intern with a weekly stipend, and as applicable, round-trip transportation, and housing. In addition, all expenses related to a pilgrimage to visit one of Global Ministries' overseas partners at the end of the internship will be provided.  If you need a Disciples History and Polity course for your Commission on Ministry, now is the time to apply! Lexington Theological Seminary offers History & Polity in May and November. Registration is now open for May. You need to be admitted as either an Auditor or Special Student (check with the Commission on Ministry to determine which) before you can register. This four-week online course allows you to complete the course without a trip to Lexington. Auditors apply with the short Application to Audit form found here. Special Students will need to use the longer application, submit transcripts and provide one letter of recommendation.
