The conference is co-sponsored by the United Church of Christ Office of Stewardship and Philanthropy as we bring the best of our leadership together to assist congregations in developing the core tools necessary for resourcing mission and ministry.

Wrestle with the tough questions about ministers what they should know about people and their and money. Learn the best practices that build greater trust and foster generous giving. Participate in the journey of how money becomes mission as the lens for budgeting conversations. Hear proven methods on asking for major gifts. Understand the latest trends in social media and giving. Rediscover the biblical witness to stewardship as a life-style and path of discipleship. Listen for a word about preaching stewardship for impact and results. Discover the power and convenience of electronic giving made easy for your congregation. Acquire skills for raising funds for special projects. Get a handle on your own relationship with money. You and your core leadership can do this and more at Stepping Into Stewardship.

Plus, let's be honest - it's Orlando a week after Easter - you can stay longer if you like and enjoy Florida after a long winter before or after you've been equipped to take generosity to a new level where you engage in ministry. Conference lodging is at the Hilton Orlando at Sea World and rates begin at $114 per night {March 26-April 4}.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day resources posted
by Sheila Spencer, Disciples Home Missions

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (officially Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.) is an American federal holiday marking the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around the time of King's birthday, Jan. 15. King was the chief spokesman for nonviolent activism in the civil rights movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., packet includes a variety of resources that can be used for worship and education, including a litany, scripture references, quotes and reflections from Dr. King. It also has additional website and video resources that can be used with a variety of ages and groups. We encourage you to use and share these resources with your congregation and community as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Go to Disciples Home Missions website for an archive of resources.
