Wayside Christian Fellowship is on the spiritual frontline

In April, Wayside Christian Fellowship, a mission-centered and welcoming presence in North Vernon, Ind., celebrated its first anniversary. Under the direction of Wayside's pastor, Colleen Malone, one of church's first community projects was to rehab an old building and repurpose it into an Emergency Inclement Weather Shelter that has housed more than 50 individuals to date.

Wayside is one of the many examples of great new church plants that Disciples are supporting through the Pentecost Offering. Disciples around the United States and Canada will celebrate the Pentecost Offering on Sundays, May 17 and 24. Hispanic Ministries seeking executive director/national pastor

The Hispanic Board of Directors and Pastoral Commission for Hispanic Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has begun its search for nominations of candidates for the position of National Pastor for Hispanic and Bilingual Ministries located in the Disciples Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. The National Pastor is the executive of the Central Office for Hispanic Ministries, a ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), responsible for developing programs and offering pastoral care to Hispanic ministers, lay leaders and Hispanic congregations, as well as advocating for the Obra Hispana before General and Regional expressions within the community of Disciples' faith.
