Easter Offering spreads far and wide

Just like a viral tweet, your dollars in the Easter Offering to Disciples Mission Fund (DMF) go around the world, around the corner and around the Church. Your generous gifts to the Easter Offering support mission as far away as Guadeloupe and as close by as your computer screen - from environmental stewardship to historical archives, leader development to global ministries and incubating new ministries at home.

Illustrated in tweets of 140 characters on the bulletin insert and in social media, the materials for the Easter Offering also include a six-week lectionary-based Bible study. Even if you have already started another Lent study, these lessons by Rev. Dr. Rick Lowery contain thought-provoking scholarship but also naming specific ministries that illustrate the Scripture come to life in the Church.

Also available for use in worship and newsletters are stories from ministries that benefit from the Easter Offering, logos and screen graphics to reinforce the messages in the bulletin inserts.

This Sunday:
General Assembly Promotion

You and your congregation are encouraged to promote General Assembly attendance this weekend, March 7/8, during your gatherings. The early registration discount expires on April 1, so now is the time to register and save about 20 percent on the registration fee.

To make your planning easy, there is a collection of videos, logos, downloadable bulletin inserts, newsletter "blurbs" and more all linked from the ga.disciples.org/promotion page. There is even a two-sided flier to print locally that can be converted to a flyer (paper airplane) to add a little fun.

If you haven't attended an assembly yourself and wonder what it is all about, you can check out this page first.

Please note: The docket will be distributed to congregations by electronic download. A USPS letter with an order form for a paper docket will be arriving in March along with information about voting representatives. Individual registrants can order a paper copy of the docket through the registration system.
