Week of Compassion offering materials appearing soon
by Vy Ngyuen, executive director, Week of Compassion

Will you put your Compassion into Action? This is the invitation to all Disciples to be a part of this year's Week of Compassion special offering in February. We thank you for your partnership in this life-saving ministry of compassion that seeks justice.
For over seven decades Week of Compassion has been working to make the world a better place and helping to create new futures and hopes for many communities and families, at home and around the world, throughout the year. As the relief, refugee, and sustainable development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we are able to do this work together because of your support and generosity.
Week of Compassion has created many resources for you to use for worship, education, or special events to help in the promotion of the offering within your congregations. There are stories of our transformative work from this past year, worship resources, sermon starters, children activities, and many more. You can find the resources on our website.
Starting on January 20th, for three weeks a new video will be launched weekly on our website, and online updates will be offered that will highlight a few areas of our work. Each video is between 1-2 minutes and may be used in various settings, such as before the offering in worship, in classes, or during coffee hour.
Thank you for putting your Compassion into Action.

Ecumenical Advocacy Days to highlight effects of mass incarceration
The U.S. makes up only five percent of the world's population yet holds nearly a quarter of the world's prisoners. Still, "imprisonment" is a worldwide problem and takes various forms, as everywhere people around the world remain trapped in detention centers, prisons, factories and drug wars that bind and dehumanize individuals for political or economic profit. Learn more about the issues both in the U.S. and abroad at the Ecumenical Advocacy Days event in the Washington D.C. area April 17-20.
