WHAT ARE TEACHERS SAYING ABOUT THE CURRIER?
Sandee Nichols, Art Educator, Goffstown High School, Goffstown, NH
As a "seasoned" art educator, who has worked and lived locally, I have been fortunate to have the Currier at my doorstep. Asked to be on the newly formed Educator Advisory Council, I was excited to meet the other members, and collaborate on ideas and experiences. Our spirited, congenial, first meeting was so informational that the group felt it should have lasted longer. Therefore, we agreed to meet during the summer to continue our "lively" discussions regarding supplementary educational uses of the Currier Museum, and roads to create more instructional opportunities. As the council evolves, I feel honored to play a small role with such a significant historical art treasure, the Currier Museum of Art. |
WELCOME TO THE CURRIER'S EDUCATOR ADVISORY COUNCIL
Jane Seney, Educator for Tour & Docent Programs at the Currier
Earlier this spring I had the pleasure of connecting with an exceptional group of educators - the Currier's newly formed Educator Advisory Council. Many of the members have been bringing their students to the Currier for years, some even decades! We focused on the exhibitions coming up in the next year [see the list of exhibitions here] and how to best serve students and teachers. We had a lively conversation, and got great insight into our practices and helpful ideas for upcoming tours and programs. Many thanks to the members our Educator Advisory Council!
Members include: Terry Dempsey, Moultonborough Central School; Corey Doherty, Manchester Central High School; Debra Hastings, Mast Way Elementary; Judy Keefe, New Boston Central School; Marcia McCaffrey, Department of Education; Franz Nicholay, Holderness School; Sandee Nichols, Goffstown High School; Beth Powers, Milford High School; Claire Provencher, McDonough Elementary School; Deb Sargent, Pittsburgh School; Monique Staples, Northwest Elementary School; and Sandy Stowe, Newmarket Elementary School. |
