First Meeting of the Ajijic, Mexico IONS Community Group

The Birth of MultiversityMex Ajijic IONS

Jaime Navarro became an IONS member in 2011 after reading Living Deeply, a book he had received as a birthday gift from a friend. He was moved by the many perspectives of transformational learning and living expressed by the luminaries in the book, and he wanted to elevate his life. Jaime is from Mexico, living at Lake Chapala's Ajijic where there are many ex-pats from the US and Canada. The reading, coupled with a diversity of people he knew in Ajijic with awakening minds and hearts, prompted him to want to create a discussion group on consciousness.

On January 28th, 2015, his group launched at the Common House of Mexico's first Sustainable Cohousing project, and they named the group MultiversityMex Ajijic IONS Community Group! They intend to learn how science and spirituality play a key role in expanding consciousness. The group wants to discuss and discover how Mexicans, Americans, Canadians, and other foreign nationals living in Lake Chapala, Mexico, can better work and live together collaboratively. They seek to discover how interconnected they are in spite of their cultural differences. Their multicultural group used bilingual skills in English and Spanish to communicate with each other. You can reach Jaime at:  [email protected].

On Wednesday evening, we are holding a pre-conference Community Group gathering and dinner with structured sharing and experiential activities, discussion of best practices, and informal social time to deepen connections. During the conference, we'll be organizing daily gatherings between the afternoon sessions and dinner for community group networking.

For those of you interested in bringing more of IONS to your communities, we have pre-conference trainings for facilitating our Worldview Explorations and Conscious Aging programs. Conference brochures are currently being sent out to community group leaders for distribution to their members.
