Yes, it's time again to show our support for the LGBTQ community and our pride in being a Welcoming Congregation. As we did last year, AUUF will have a strong presence at Panhandle Pride 2014. We've been involved in every stage of the planning - and it looks as though all who attend should have a great time again this year.

If you are interested in helping at our booth - or want more information, contact Martha Baird or Terre Moore.

Flower Communion
Sunday, June 1
9:30 and 11 AM

Flower Communion
is a ritual that celebrates beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community.

In this ceremony, everyone in the congregation brings a flower of any type; live cut or artificial. For those who forget to bring a flower - and for our guests - extra flowers will be made available.

Each person will place the flower on the altar in a shared vase. The congregation and minister bless the flowers and they are redistributed. Each person brings home a different flower than the one he or she brought.

Please join us in this lovely ritual by bringing a flower on Sunday, June 1, as we celebrate the unique beauty and diversity of our beloved community.
June 15 is Graduation Sunday!
Sunday, June 15
High School and college grads from the Fellowship will be recognized
during the 11 AM service for their achievement and presented with a token of our esteem and best wishes for their future.

Parents/guardians of graduates should contact the Fellowship at 355-9351 by Friday, June 6 to ensure their grad is included in this special ceremony.
Earlier Service Begins at 9:30
In order to help alleviate crowding between services, the time of the early service has changed to 9:30 AM.

Adult RE, studying Skeptics and Believers: Religious Debate in the Western Intellectual Tradition, will continue to meet each Sunday at 10:00 AM.

The 7 Principles

of Unitarian Universalism

6th Principle
The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.

"The sixth Principle seems extravagant in its hopefulness and improbable in its prospects. Can we continue to say we want 'world community'? 'Peace, liberty, and justice for all'? The world is full of genocide, abuse, terror, and war. What have we gotten ourselves into?
As naive or impossible as the sixth Principle may seem, I'm not willing to give up on it. In the face of our culture's apathy and fear, I want to imagine and help create a powerful vision of peace by peaceful means, liberty by liberatory means, and justice by just means. I want us to believe - and to live as if we believe - that a world community of peace, liberty, and justice for all is possible. There is no guarantee that we will succeed, but I can assure you that we will improve ourselves and improve the world by trying."
                         - Rev. Sean Parker Dennison
