Welcome to the Amarillo
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship!

Join us on Sunday morning for either the 10 AM or the 11 AM service. The content and format are the same at both, so you won't miss anything. You can also see your old friends between the two services. Childcare is provided only during the 11 AM service.

Also - we hope that you will attend at least one of the other events described in this newsletter. For a complete listing of events at the Fellowship, click on the Calendar icon. Want more detail? Check both the News and the Events sections of our website (uuamarillo.org).

Also on our website, uuamarillo.org, you will find more information about Unitarian Universalism, our Fellowship, the calendar, and an ever-changing blog of news articles and items for thought which we believe are of interest to the liberal religious community.

All events are held at the Fellowship, 4901 Cornell St., unless otherwise noted. If you are unsure how to reach any of the individuals named as contacts, please email the AUUF office or call 806.355.9351 and leave a message. Book Group: All That Is
Tuesday, April 22
from 7 - 8:30 PM

This month's book: All That Is, by James Salter -
his first novel in 35 years. Salter, noted primarily for his highly compressed short fiction, is frequently described as "a writer's writer" in admiration for his mastery of the craft.

InAll That Is, he unfolds the life arc of one character, following him from military action in World War II through a career as a New York book editor and a life-long search for a meaningful relationship.  Salter describes both the highlights and the tediums of life with the insightful and compressed imagery that his fans have come to expect.  In the process he also delivers a portrait of American life in the late twentieth century.  "Mad Men" may come to mind.

The Book Group meets monthly (excluding December) at the Fellowship to discuss a new novel or collection of essays chosen by retired English professor Dick Moseley, who also facilitates the conversation. All are welcome to attend, read the month's selection, and enjoy delving deeper into some of today's best new literature.
