Welcome to the Amarillo Unitarian Universalist Fellowship! |
 |
If you've not attended the Fellowship in a while, come back to see us - things are changing quickly. Come to either the 10 or 11 AM service; the content and format are the same, so you won't miss anything. You can even see your old friends between the two services. And if you've never been there, please check us out! Either time, you'll meet lots of new and welcoming people and learn something. In addition, one (or more) of the other events described in this newsletter might be of interest to you, so give it a try. For a complete listing of events at the Fellowship, click on the Calendar icon. Want more detail? Check both the News and Events sections of our website ( uuamarillo.org).
All events are held at the Fellowship, 4901 Cornell St., unless otherwise noted. If you are unsure how to reach any of the individuals named as contacts, please email the AUUF office or call 806.355.9351 and leave a message. Your call will be returned during office hours, which are M-W-F from 9 AM to noon.
On our website, uuamarillo.org, you will find more information about Unitarian Universalism, our Fellowship, the calendar, and an ever-changing blog of news articles and items for thought which we believe are of interest to the liberal religious community. Find and "Like" us on Facebook! With welcoming arms for all, The AUUF Beloved Community

Book Group: And the Mountains Echoed
|
Tuesday, March 25, 2014 7:30 - 8:30 PM Note date correction
This month's book: And the Mountains Echoedby Khaled Hosseini. The author of The Kite Runner takes his characters from Kabul all across the world in a generational novel exploring how our choices bear complicated fruit. Like Hosseini's earlier best sellers, The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, the novel explores Afghan history-this time moving across the last sixty years through interlocked stories that spread outward following the separation of two children. Multiple points of view carry the reader across generations and across the world.
The Book Group meets monthly (excluding December) at the Fellowship to discuss a new novel or collection of essays chosen by retired English professor Dick Moseley, who also facilitates the conversation. All are welcome to attend, read the month's selection, and enjoy delving deeper into some of today's best new literature.
