Thirty Days of Love
(Jan. 18 - Feb. 16) is a period of intentional action, service, education, and reflection to focus on this essential work.

During this final week of the Thirty Days of Love (Feb. 9 - Feb. 16), let's Pause, Reflect, and Celebrate!

  • Pause: Take some time for meditation and journaling: Has taking the time to go on this journey together changed you?

Making a pledge: Why?

Many new, and even some long time members, might ask why an annual pledge/estimate of giving to our Beloved Community is important.

The short answer is, like your own household, it's necessary to have an estimate of income to enable accurate planning of future expenditures and activities. For the Fellowship that future is our annual program year (June 1, 2014 - May 31, 2015). Your Board of Directors and its standing committees need as accurate projection of income when deciding what programs and projects can be considered for the upcoming year. The final vote on the proposed budget at will be at the annual congregational meeting in April.

The Fellowship's financial requirements increase as we continue to grow. More members generate more expenses just as more children in a growing household require more resources. I'm sure we'd all agree that as we grow we increase our potential to have a positive impact in our community and our region. I think we'd also all agree that that's a good thing. As other progressive thinkers in our area discover us, we can welcome them to our Beloved Community and provide all that they expect.

As you consider your annual pledge I hope you'll consider all that the Fellowship means to you and what it can mean to others. Believe in Good!

Discussion group:
        Living the Questions

February 13, 2014 - 7 PM

All are invited to this popular video & discussion series held in the large classroom at the Fellowship. January's discussion will be on defining God and, among other questions, how did God get into Jesus?. The series is about rethinking old theological ideas that are not helpful in the 21st century. Discussions are facilitated by Lyle Raker.

This discussion group is especially for those seeking insight on contemporary progressive Christian thought. People know that at its core, Christianity has something good to offer humanity. At the same time, many have a sense that they are alone in being a "thinking" Christian and that "salvaging" Christianity is a hopeless task. What is needed is a safe environment where people have permission to ask the questions they've always wanted to ask but have been afraid to voice for fear of being thought a heretic.
