Committee Fair

Connect! Volunteer!

At this Committee Fair (and yes, we'll be having the potluck at the same time!) you will have an opportunity to meet our Committee chairpersons, learn what the committees do -- and of greater importance -- find a place to use your talents.

Each committee is a team of volunteers who serve the Fellowship. From parties and community service to painting the hallways and greeting visitors, our volunteer committees are the magic behind this Beloved Community.

Anyone-AUUF friend or member-can serve on a committee. Serve for an hour or a week, once a month or once a year. It's up to you. There are many opportunities and you can find the fit that's right for you.

About Jerry Barlow

Acclaimed Celtic fingerstyle guitarist Jerry Barlow is a virtuoso musician, a warm and accessible performer, and a world-class storyteller.

His repertoire is composed of a synthesis of traditional music from the British Isles and his own original Celtic-inspired compositions.   Music from Jerry's first CD Keepsake is played on NPR stations across the country and was used in a PBS documentary "Songs of our Children."  The title track of his second CD Bring Down The Storm won an Indie Project Award for "Best Songs of 2006."  His latest CD Fields and Fences, was released in October 2011.

It has been a couple of years since Jerry has visited us in Amarillo, and we are thrilled to have him back. Thanks, HPPR!

If you would like to make a reservation for this show, call HPPR at 806-367-9088 or send an e-mail to music@hppr.org.

August 30, 2013
Welcome to the
Amarillo Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship!

First, thank you for the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the first issue of our redesigned newsletter, and on our sparkly new website! Keep your comments coming, please. We are eager to have this newsletter and the website meet your needs--so let us know what works well for you and what you'd like to see improved.

So why have we made the change to distribute this newsletter on Fridays? Here is our reasoning:
  • To provide everyone a reminder about what's coming up this Sunday and the week to come.

  • To have a few printed  copies to be available for guests. It will be great for guests to get a hard copy to take home!

We believe that this process will improve our communications. What do you think?

If you haven't already done so, please complete the 2-minute Communications Survey about the changes to the newsletter and website by clicking here.

In peace,
The AUUF Beloved Community

Everyone can all enjoy good camping facilities, lots of trails for hiking and fun things to do in the town of Raton. The site is making progress on handicapped access; check closer to the date of this trip to learn if the site is accessible.

The group plans to carpool. Contact Wendy Hearn or Andrea Byers to arrange this--or email submissions@uamarillo.org and we'll forward it.

Reservations are required; make arrangements directly with Sugarite Canyon State Park at 877.664.7787, online, or by email
