 Update: CDL Medical Card Requirements

This is an update to our previous email about CDL Medical Card Requirements and the self-certification process. 

 

As of January 14th, 2014, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration amended the new Medical Card Requirements for CDL drivers as follows:

 

CDL drivers must now keep their paper copy medical card until January 30, 2015.   Businesses employing CDL drivers must continue to keep a copy of medical cards in driver qualification files until this date as well. 

 

Drivers still need to self-certify with their local DMV office by January 30, 2014.  This has not changed.
