It's possible that we are biased, but we believe every day is a great day to celebrate independent bookstores. Yet who doesn't appreciate an excuse for a fun party?
We hope you can join us on Saturday, April 30th, as we join indie bookstores across the country in celebrating our independence and our joy in playing a vital role in our communities. We will also be celebrating the store's 24th anniversary!
On this day only, from 10 am to 7 pm, we will offer you a special sale to show our deep appreciation for your 24 years of support: 24% off all hardcover fiction in the store. And there are so many wonderful new titles from which to choose! This fiction sale also applies to mysteries, young adult titles, and middle reader books in hardcover.
In light of the adult coloring craze -- which has in fact led to a world-wide shortage of colored pencils (no kidding) -- we're are offering 20% off any of our coloring books from 11 to 1 on that day, and during that time we invite you to come color with us!
In addition to this special sale, we will be offering
limited quantities of one-time-only items created just for this event, including literary tea towels, a Neil Gaiman coloring book, a special plush Read-to-Me Curious George, zippered pouches featuring bookstore cats, and more -- including some cool free items, such as Broadway Books temporary tattoos!!!
We'll also have yummy treats (Hello, St. Cupcake!) and live music in the store (classical guitar by Nathan Taylor). Spend $100 or more on Independent Bookstore Day and earn an entry to spin the magical lottery wheel of joy for cool prizes, including Broadway Books Gift Certificates and mystery grab bags of advance readers!
We invite you to join us in this party to celebrate independent bookstores across the nation!
"Consumers control the marketplace by deciding where to spend their money. If what a bookstore offers matters to you, then shop at a bookstore. If you feel that the experience of reading a book is valuable, then read the book. This is how we change the world: we grab hold of it. We change ourselves." (Ann Patchett, bestselling author and co-owner of Parnassus Books)
