President's Column
As we wind down the semester and move rapidly towards the holiday season, it is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the year thus far.  Sure, there have been challenges and struggles, frustrations and setbacks: many of us are experiencing lower enrollments than we've known for years.

Save the Date: CCPRO Conference April 13-15, 2016 in Sonoma County

Mark your calendars now! The 2016 CCPRO conference will be held April 13-15 in Santa Rosa, the heart of Sonoma County's wine country. If you were able to attend the 2015 conference in San Diego, you know the value (and the fun) of a CCPRO conference. The 2016 conference promises to be even better!
Legislative and policy initiatives
I'll be serving as your legislative coordinator for CCPRO this year and will strive to keep you updated on legislative and policy initiatives. I will attend the League's Advisory Committee on Legislation meetings and will provide updates at CCPRO board meetings. These updates are posted on the CCPRO website under resources>legislative

How to Avert Crisis and Create a Climate of Success By Making Connections

A collaboration by Karin Marriott & Craig Petinak

A frantic text message recently appeared on my cell phone: "School I am at is on lockdown police helicopters flying overhead."

Happy Holidays, CCPROers!

Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Agnostic or 'Other' - the holidays are upon us and are a time to reconnect with family and friends. Whether you travel across the state, the country, internationally, or stay close to home during the holidays, know that you are doing a great job for your college and district, as well as the communities you serve. You are also doing a great service for the students you attract to your college, because as we all know - once they have found us, they are glad they did. It is all about value, support, small class sizes and feeling a part of something bigger.

Everyone on the CCPRO board and members across the state wish you and yours a very happy, fulfilling, safe and relaxing holiday season!
