ALL PreK to 8th Grade Famlies - Parent Directory To Be Finalized September 12
Parent Directory: As of September 9, we will be pulling information related to the Parent Directory from Power School in preparation of printing this year's school directory. It is very important that each family verify this information and make sure you indicate the information you do/do not want included. EACH entry should have a YES or NO beside it.

Only the information that has been verified in Power School will be included in this year's directory. If you have not indicated the information you want included, only your parent names, student name and grade will be included.

Power School Parent Portal
Information informing you how to log on to the Parent Portal in Power School was included in your back-to-school packet sent home on Monday, August 29. In addition to the many forms included in that packet, all families are asked to use Power School to electronically update each student's Emergency Care Form. This document can be accessed through the left side of the Parent Portal under Family Information. Click Demographic Change to access the Emergency Care Form.

In addition to the Emergency Care Form, we would also like for you to update your Ethnicity, Race & Language, Medical Information, and Parent Directory information.

IMPORTANT - New Email for Absences and Dismissal Changes
If it is necessary for a child to leave school before dismissal time, we ask that the parent write a note to the teacher informing the teacher of the need to release the student. Teachers will then forward this note to the office so everyone is aware of this change. If an email is sent, please make sure that the office is included in your distribution list. The email for official school notifications this year should be [email protected]. Along that line, due to the busy nature of preparation for dismissal, we cannot guarantee that any email received the last 30 minutes of the day will be acknowledged prior to dismissal. If your plans change during that time frame, it is best to call the school.

When picking up children early, parents must come to the office to sign out your child, at which time office personnel will call for the student.

As always, if you have any questions, call the school office.

Summer Work Success
Congratulations to the over 120 students in grades 2-8 who earned a Bingo on their summer work cards!  While almost 90 students were able to complete 5 in a row, 29 students exceeded our expectations and completed all 25 activities! The change in how Saint Ann Catholic School assigns summer work came out of the curriculum committee, who worked together to create the cards based on input from teachers in a variety of subject areas such as art, Spanish, computers, math, science, and physical education, and across most grade levels.  The intent was to offer families more time to enjoy one another's company in July and August through prayer, conversation, literature, exploration, and shared experiences. The team also wanted to have activities that younger and older siblings, or friends, could complete together, like trying a new healthy food, going to a concert, play or science center, or writing postcards to members of the parish.  Students earned prizes such as out of uniform passes and treats from Joe's Pizza & Pasta in Arlington for their efforts.  Many students reported that it was a lot of fun to do summer work this way. Most importantly, our students returned to school rested, refreshed and ready to learn.

Below are the names of the students who will be earning a treat at Joe's for completing every task on the summer work card. Grade 2 - Jerald Campana, Bobby Cogar, Nik Machion, Molly O'Boyle, Garrett Perry, Grade 3 - Collin Berke, Nick Hearne, Julia Pedone, Robert Schoshinski, Grade 4 - Caroline Cancian, Richard Zimmerman, Grade 5 - Julia Berke, Sydney Cogar, McKenna Hayden, Helen King, Clara Mollo, Gabriella Nova, Liam Sullivan, Grade 6 - Ben Cogar, Sal Machion, Josefina Mollo, Sofia Parfomak, Marie Schoshinski, Grade 7 - Sophia LoPresti, Meghan Stephenson, Ellie Walker, Grade 8 - Rose Schoshinski, Juliet Walker
