Picture Day on Tuesday, March 22
Splendid Photographers will be at school Tuesday, March 22,  to take 8th grade graduation pictures and spring pictures for students in grades preschool through 7th grade. We will begin taking photographs at 8:30am. Order forms were sent home last week with all students and must be returned to homeroom teachers prior to March 22 if you wish to purchase a set of pictures.

8th graders will have individual, as well as a group picture, taken. All students will be included in the group picture and should dress accordingly. Information on what to wear for our 8th graders will be addressed by Mrs. Stanley.

Spring pictures for preschool through grade 7 students is optional and a dress-up day for students (no jeans). ALL students will be photographed even if an order form is not returned. If you wish to order a set of portraits, however, you must return the order form to your child's homeroom teacher prior to Tuesday.

ASSISTANCE NEEDED: It would be helpful to have 2 parents available to assist the photographer throughout the morning; one parent would assist with 8th grade and one would assist with preschool to7th. Assistance is needed from 8:30am until all students have been photographed. Contact the office if you can help.

OPCYP Policy Change
GREAT NEWS! The Office for the Protection of Children and Young People (OPCYP) is currently making some changes to their requirements. One area of change will be the necessity of viewing the Keeping the Promise Alive video every year for continuing education. Going forward this is obsolete and will no longer need to be viewed each year. The diocese will be going to a new system where you will only need to update your continuing education every three years on your anniversary date of attending a seminar. All volunteers who attended a seminar prior to this year, and through 2015, will have a seminar anniversary date of July 1, 2015. This new system will begin in 2018.

The new program, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse, will be conducted via an online video that will be sent to individuals on their anniversary date. For those who do not have email accounts, live viewing will be available on request. This program is updated and will provide more relevant information to assist our volunteers.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact Judy Karinshak at 703-525-7599.
