Celebrate Calm Workshop
St. James PTO is inviting our Saint Ann families to join them in welcoming Kirk Martin and his son, Casey, from Celebrate Calm. They will discuss strategies to get your kids to listen the first time, stop defiance yelling and disrespect, create stress free mornings, and so much more. Lenten Sandwich Making - Grades 6 & 2
Sandwich making continues next week, Thursday, February 25, with 6th and 2nd grades participating. The remaining schedule, and details surrounding assistance needed, can be found HERE. Permission forms will be sent home via the classroom teacher or room parents, and can also be found HERE.

The Living Church in Africa
Saint Ann Parish is pleased to sponsor a talk that will give us insights into the Catholic Church in Africa. We have invited Fr. Pascal Kumanda, CICM, to give a talk on February 29 at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall. He will discuss The Living Church in Africa: The Context of the Diocese of Lisala in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Fr. Pascal will share his personal experience about the Church and his journey to the priesthood in a country devastated by wars and poverty

Book Character Day Coming Soon
On Wednesday,March 2, the library will be sponsoring a dress as your favorite character from a book day. Look for more details in next week's newsletter. 
 
Tuition Assistance 2016-2017
Next year the Diocese will be utilizing the services of Smart Aid for processing tuition assistance applications. Families applying for assistance should submit their application and supporting tax documentation by March 14, 2016. Information can be found on our website (stann@stann.org), at support@smartaidforparents.com or 1-800-360-8027 (Smart Aid Customer Service).

Lunch Duty:  
 
Library Assistance Needed:
  • All parents must be fully compliant with Diocesan Child Protection requirements if you wish to volunteer where supervision of students is involved. Compliance consists of attending a VIRTUS Child Protecton seminar, undergoing two background checks and filling out additional miscellaneous paperwork. Packets of paperwork can be obtained from the school office.  
  •  When visiting/assisting at the school you must sign-in at the front office upon arrival. Volunteers will be given a pass. The pass alerts the faculty and students that you are an approved visitor. 

Newsletter Submissions

Items to be included in our weekly newsletter must be submitted to jkarinshak@stann.org by Wednesday noon of each week in order to be included in that week's edition. All submissions must be in print ready form.  Any items received after the deadline will be included in the following issue.
