Tuition Assistance 2016-2017

Next year the Diocese will be utilizing the services of Smart Aid for processing tuition assistance applications. Families applying for assistance should submit their application and supporting tax documentation by March 14, 2016. Information can be found on our website (stann@stann.org), at support@smartaidforparents.com or 1-800-360-8027 (Smart Aid Customer Service).

Come to the Resurrection

Lent is a time of penance, prayer, reflection and reconciliation.

For 20 years the interdenominational St. Patrick's Family Players have marked the Lenten and Easter seasons by performing the musical cantata "Resurrection." From New England to California, from Ireland to Italy they have brought their musical performance and faith in the Resurrection not just to audiences in cathedrals and parish churches but to inmates in prison as well.

Please join us on Sunday, February 14^th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Church (5300 10^th Street N.) for this inspiring performance. The performance is free ... and eternally rewarding! Donations will be accepted.

Lenten Sandwich Making - Grades 7 & K

As in past years, Saint Ann Catholic School will make sandwiches for the homeless and hungry as a Lenten service project. Over the six week Lenten period, two Saint Ann classes will prepare sandwiches each Thursday after school in the Parish Hall. Preschoolers contribute food but sandwich preparation is optional. The project takes about 30 minutes and results in about 300-400 sandwiches each week. The sandwiches will help feed the hungry in our community each week!

The Lenten Sandwich making schedule, and details surrounding assistance needed, can be found HERE. Grades 7 and kindergarten will be making sandwiches next Thursday, February 18. Permission forms will be sent home via the classroom teacher or room parents, and can also be found HERE.

Volunteer Reminders & Needs

Reminder for ALL Volunteers:

All parents must be fully compliant with Diocesan Child Protection requirements if you wish to volunteer where supervision of students is involved. Compliance consists of attending a VIRTUS Child Protecton seminar, undergoing two background checks and filling out additional miscellaneous paperwork. Packets of paperwork can be obtained from the school office.
When visiting/assisting at the school you must sign-in at the front office upon arrival. Volunteers will be given a pass. The pass alerts the faculty and students that you are an approved visitor.

Newsletter Submissions

Items to be included in our weekly newsletter must be submitted to jkarinshak@stann.org by Wednesday noon of each week in order to be included in that week's edition. All submissions must be in print ready form. Any items received after the deadline will be included in the following issue.
