January Work of Mercy
Our January Corporal Work of Mercy is "Shelter the Homeless/Welcome the Stranger."  Click HERE for additional information.

Re-Registration
Thanks to those of you who have already returned your re-registration packets. The re-registration fee is $150.00 per student until January 25. After that time the fee will be $200.00 per child.

Reminder: If you have a sibling you would like to register for next year, now is the time to do so. If the sibling will be entering K-8, simply add their name to the re-registration form before returning. If you have a sibling ready for preschool, contact Mrs. Marchese at [email protected] for the necessary paperwork.

Your registration helps us determine how many slots we will have for incoming registrations and allows us to make an early notification to those new families searching for a school for their child.
A Note From the Nurses re Epi-Pen
In the event of an anaphylactic reaction in a student, who does not have a prescription for an Epi-Pen, Epinephrine will be administered by one of the school nurses at Saint Ann School. Approximately, twenty
percent of allergies are discovered while a child is at school.  Deaths due to anaphylaxis can be caused by a delay in Epinephrine treatment.

A standing order for use of the EpiPen in such emergency situations is on file in the school clinic. The standing order was prepared by the Health Supervisor in the Diocesan Office of Schools and signed by a Saint Ann parent who is also a medical doctor. We have an EpiPen for this use in the clinic and the Parish Hall where our students eat lunch. The school received them through the EpiPen4Schools program at no cost.

If you have questions or comments about this, please send us an email at [email protected].

Judges Needed for Science Fair
SCIENCE FAIR - Thursday, January 28, 2016
The Saint Ann Science Fair is coming on Thursday, January 28, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Judges are needed from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Please email Mrs. Bethany Stanley at [email protected], if you are interested in judging or helping out in another way. Assisting with the Science Fair counts for Saint Ann Service to School hours and it is lots of fun! Feel free to pass along the information to a neighbor or friend that may be interested in judging.

Open House - January 31 & February 2
Saint Ann will be hosting two Open Houses: Sunday, January 31, from 10:30am to 1:00pm and Tuesday, February 2, from 9:30-11:30am.

We hope that you will promote our Open Houses among your family, friends, neighbors and colleagues.  There are flyers in the office if you would like to help spread the news. As well, if you are looking for service to school hours, please consider helping with promotion, set up, or serving as a tour guide. If you can help, contact Christine Casabianca at  [email protected]. Thank you very much.

PTO Book and Bake Sale
SAVE THE DATE!
SAINT ANN ANNUAL GIANT USED BOOK AND BAKE SALE
Sunday February 7, 2016

It's that time of the year again and we need your help! Start gathering your gently-used book donations now, because we will be collecting them beginning January 31 at the Church. We take all
kinds of books (just no periodicals or encyclopedias please). We will need the extra effort this year because we will be opening early for a special school-parish preview before the 5:30pm Mass on February 6. Consider donating what you can! All proceeds will to to the school. For more information, contact parent Kelley Vlahos, [email protected].
Come to the Resurrection
Lent is a time of penance, prayer, reflection and reconciliation.
For 20 years the interdenominational St. Patrick's Family Players have marked the Lenten and Easter seasons by performing the musical cantata "Resurrection."  From New England to California, from Ireland to Italy they have brought their musical performance and faith in the Resurrection not just to audiences in cathedrals and parish churches but to inmates in prison as well.

Told from the perspective of St. Peter, a prisoner about to be martyred, we learn not only of the anguish he felt for his denial of Jesus but also of his repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation with Jesus. The performance by the cast of more than 45 performers ages 2 to 85 is guaranteed to speak to all of us, because Peter's story of betrayal of the Lord followed by the promise of reconciliation is our story, too.                            Resurrection Flyer

Please join us on Sunday, February 14th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Church (5300 10th Street N.) for this inspiring performance.  The performance is free ... and eternally rewarding! Donations will be accepted.

Reminder for ALL Volunteers:
  • All parents must be fully compliant with Diocesan Child Protection requirements if you wish to volunteer where supervision of students is involved. Compliance consists of attending a VIRTUS Child Protecton seminar, undergoing two background checks and filling out additional miscellaneous paperwork. Packets of paperwork can be obtained from the office.
  • If already compliant, you must watch the "Keeping the Promise Alive" video each school year for continuing education. The video may be viewed in the school at the following listed times:
    • Any Tuesday and Thursday when school is in session at 2:30 pm
    • Any 2:15pm dismissal Wednesday at 9:00 and 10:00am and 1:00pm
We ask that you notify the school office in advance so we can be prepared and waiting for your arrival.
  • When visiting/assisting at the school you must sign-in at the front office upon arrival.  Volunteers will be given a pass. The pass alerts the faculty and students that you are an approved visitor.
