Register Now for Toby's Pet Parade & Fair
Saturday, Sept. 17
9 am - Noon
Dress up your dog in their best costume and join us at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 17, for a celebration to benefit Foothills Animal Shelter. From a pet costume parade and contests, to flyball and agility demos, to family-friendly games and activities, you're sure to find something for everyone, all while helping us raise critical funds to support the homeless pets at Foothills Animal Shelter!

Want to strut your mutt in the pet parade (in their best costume, of course)? Take advantage of the early registration fee, only $15 per pet. Be sure to register your dog to be considered for the contests and prizes! Registration price will increase on September 1.

Foothills Animal Shelter is a PokeStop
Come By the Shelter to Collect Items
Did you know that the service dog statue in front of Foothills Animal Shelter is a PokeStop in Pokemon GO? Come stop by the Shelter to collect items, and while you're here, make sure to check out all the wonderful dogs, cats and critters that we have available for adoption! We are located at 580 McIntyre Street, Golden, 80401, right next to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

Special thanks to CBS Denver for spreading the word about our PokeStop!

10 Reasons to Adopt a Senior Cat
Senior Cats Make Great Companions
Unfortunately, senior animals (usually grouped as 7 years and older) are often overlooked when people are searching for the perfect pet to bring home. However, adopting a senior pet has many benefits! Not only that, but adoption fees for senior cats, 7 years and older, are FREE during the month of August!

Here are our top ten reasons to adopt a senior cat:

10. What you see is what you get. With an older cat, you already know their full-grown size, so there's no guessing about how big they will get.

9. They are already housebroken. Senior cats are often already litter box trained and know how to behave in a home environment...

Microchip Your Pet
Help Your Pet Get Home If They're Ever Lost
If your pet doesn't have a microchip yet, make sure they get one! A microchip is a form of permanent identification that is inserted into the scruff of the animal's neck. When scanned, the microchip reveals the owner's contact information, thereby allowing lost pets to be safely reunited with their owners. The procedure, which is as simple as a routine vaccination, takes just a few minutes.

Foothills Animal Shelter can quickly and easily microchip your pet for just $35 anytime during business hours: Monday - Friday, 11 am - 7 pm and Saturday/Sunday, 10 am - 6 pm. Stop by to get a microchip today!

Pet Licensing
An annual pet license not only helps get your lost pet home, it also supports us so we can continue to give life-saving care to thousands of homeless animals each year. License Today
