10-Day-Old Kitten Survives Dog Attack
|
Kitten Thrives Despite Severe Injuries
At the beginning of March, a tiny, ten-day-old kitten was brought to Foothills Animal Shelter with injuries so severe that it was unclear whether or not he would survive. The kitten was found by a good Samaritan under a porch, along with four siblings. Sadly, it appeared as if the litter of kittens had been attacked by a dog. Only two of the kittens were alive and one was severely injured.
When the kittens arrived at the Shelter, it was clear that the right front leg of the male kitten was so damaged that he needed emergency surgery immediately. It was determined that his leg had to be amputated. Being so young and fragile, the Shelter's veterinarian was unsure if he would survive the surgery.
Named Trooper because of his will to live, this was just the beginning of the tiny kitten's story.
