While orphaned pets at Foothills Animal Shelter receive compassionate care, warm accommodations, exercise and enrichment, all they really want is a home for the holidays. Won't you consider giving a homeless animal a family this season?

CharlieFound deformed and abused, little Charlie now has an adoring family

Life did not start off so well for Charlie. Born with two deformed front paws, it was difficult for the small Chihuahua puppy to walk. Charlie was cast aside and suffering from poor nutrition. Unfortunately, this made him a prime target for neighborhood bullies.

HigginsA kitten's narrow escape

At just a few months old, Higgins was fending for herself outside one chilly November night. She climbed under the hood of a vehicle and huddled near the engine, falling fast asleep. She just wanted to be warm.

The next morning, an unsuspecting vehicle owner turned the key in the ignition. Higgins escaped with her life, but sustained injuries to her body, legs and chin, resulting in $1,100 in emergency medical care. Luckily, she healed under the watchful eyes of Foothills Animal Shelter's health care team, and was adopted on December 6th.

Furry friends make the best (well-planned) gift

So, your grandkids have been begging for a dog. An elderly relative wants a cat for companionship. Wouldn't it be a wonderful surprise to find a new pet under the Christmas tree? Not so much...
