Canadian Red Fox Dreamcatcher

This fur wrapped medicine shield is 16" in diameter and overall the shield is approximately 40" long, not counting the hanger loop. This red fox medicine shield has a dreamcatcher with many blue lapis lazuli stones in the web.

Lapis Lazuli has been used to for adornment for as long as humans have been decorating their bodies. Ancient Egyptians believed that by meditating on the color of the lapis lazuli they could touch the robes of God
The meaning of lapis lazuli signifies deep power, wisdom, and inner strength. Another meaning of lapis signifies the development and use of psychic abilities, higher insight, and decision making.

Blue Lapis stones open your mind for creative use, expanding your viewpoint, and getting in contact with your inner power.

Blue Lapis is wonderful to give as a gift as some traditions consider it one of the gemstones of friendship and truth.

This medicine shield has a red fox face and three prime Canadian Red Fox tails. There are also four bundles of horsehair for strength and stamina, a coyote tooth for knowledge and humor, and a racoon penis bone for fertility, all held on with brass cones.
The ten long buckskin fringes are decorated with dozens of colorful ringneck pheasant feathers attached with glass crow beads and brass beads. There is a large barred turkey wing feather at the end of each fringe held on with more brass cones.

This artifact replica is handmade in the USA.
