Geode slice with 3 Amethyst crystals
       

 

This is a sliced geode with 3 amethyst crystals mounted in silver on the inside of the geode. The outside of the geode is also clad in silver. The pendant is 1 1/4" x 1 3/4" (3.2x4.4 cm). A 16" (40.6 cm) chain is included.

Cherokee Nation and Cherokee Freedmen to let judge decide citizenship
 

In 2007, Cherokee Nation citizens voted to kick out descendants of Freedmen and other non-Indians. The dispute has been in and out of the courts ever since.

The Cherokee Nation and descendants of black slaves once owned by its citizens, now known as Freedmen,  are asking a federal court to sort out their longstanding dispute over tribal citizenship rights.
