Just know your numbers..
The first number of the tip when doubled indicates fan width when spraying 12 inches from the surface.
The last two digits indicate the size of the hole on the spray tip. This will affect how much paint can get through. The thicker the paint the less that will get through at one time.
Ex:
517 Tip: 5 = 10" fan width 17 = .017 of an inch size spray tip hole.
621 Tip: 6 = 12" fan width 21 = .021 of an inch size spray tip hole.
