Green Sanctuary Task Force Fall Clothing Swap Tomorrow, April 30
The Green Sanctuary Task Force encourages all of us to examine our habits of consumption. What do we buy? Where does it come from? What happens to it when we're finished with it? What impact does our consumption have on the earth and its inhabitants?
This spring's Swap will be held tomorrow, April 30 from 10 am until 12 noon with drop off starting at 9:30 am.

May 1, due to home games at 12 noon and 3:00 p.m. Extra parking still available at Marching 100 Hall, Jordan Ave. and the tennis courts. Carpooling and biking encouraged as always!

Interfaith
Holocaust Remembrance Service
Sunday, May 1st at 7:00 p.m.

Reverend Mary Beth Morgan and other interfaith leaders
with an Interfaith Choir led by Susan Swaney
Join us for this Remembrance Service commemorating the six million Jews and five million others who perished in the Holocaust as a result of the actions carried out by Nazi Germany and its accessories. In this worship service we will also speak out against examples of genocide and patterns that lead to genocide in our own time. All are welcome. Offertory will go to Exodus Refugee Center.

What's happening in Religious Education this week?
Preschoolers will hear the Jewish story of Jonah and the Whale and consider what to do when there is something you don't want to do.
Kindergarten-1st grade are exploring a tale told by Aesop and in the Muslim tradition: The Father, the Son, and the Donkey and ask: "How do you respond to the well-meaning input of others?" 2nd-5th grade will investigate music and sound YUUMS (Young UU Middle Schoolers) will be attending the service in support of the Coming of Age youth. High School Youth are also attending the service and will celebrate with Coming of Age youth afterwards.

Caregiver Network Support Group Meeting this Sunday
The support group will meet this Sunday, May 1 from 3:00-4:30pm in the library.

 First Steps Class Meets This Sunday First Steps, a 40-minute drop-in class for newcomers, will meet Sunday at 10:35 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. in Room 207B. It offers a brief introduction to Unitarian Universalism and our congregation. Free childcare is available in Room 108 (snack provided for children at 12:35 p.m.). |
Our Folks... Our thoughts of care and sympathy are with Melanie Turner, whose step-daughter Jennifer Turner died of cancer recently.
Our thoughts and prayers are also with Bob Taylor and his family and friends upon the passing on April 28 of Sandy Taylor. A memorial service for Sandy is planned for Saturday, May 21, at 2:00 p.m.
