Welcome to July! Thanks so much for reading the newsletter. Asexpected, we haven't done anything to speak about in The World Cup and have to now wait another four years to show ourselves up again. I have my money on the Netherlands but for my office sweepstake I am hoping for Switzerland to win!
The country has been on tenterhooks about what the banks will do in response to all the talk about calming the property market down, but nothing they have talked about relates realistically to Sheffield and our micro market, as they keep talking about the south and London areas as if they are the norm. We are lucky in Sheffield that the market has shown very steady recovery since 2010 and that we aren't seeing dizzy heights of 17% price increases like the south. Keeping a cool head and working out your figures is the only way to buy property at the moment. If you want any advice about buying please let us know.
The rental market too is very steady. Our development on Ringinglow Road has all fully let, and we have some other very good stock due on the market soon, as well as a new development out in Bakewell, which is done to an excellent standard.
