 Welcome to our August Newsletter from Spencers. August already! We just never want this summer to end, hasn't it been glorious?
July was a great month for sales contracts exchanging with us seeing a record number reach exchange with completion dates for during the school holidays. So many people like to have the comfort of the summer holidays to be able to move and unpack, and to get the children ready for the next term in a new school or a new year.
We are heading into a more interesting time in the property market with the new government legislation on the horizon and with much speculation about the changes creating a new property market peak. What do you think? Will the new Help to Buy rules create a market boom, therefore inflating prices and penalising the first time buyers who don't want to have to borrow off the government to buy? Will the bank of mum and dad get hammered in the process?
The market is good right now, with supply and demand meaning that most properties are selling at a sensible price with no particular trends boosting unrealistic expectations. The top of the market is still slower, but we have had sales in July exchange at £740,000, £1,230,000 and £609,635, so not all doom and gloom at the top.
We had our 20th birthday party in July too, which was hot but fun! Thanks to everyone that came along.
