Pastor Andy Writes...
Pastor Andy Keltner

Thomas Edison is credited with saying: "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." Daily God gives us countless opportunities to grow in his Word and share his love. I know I miss opportunities to share God's love. The problem is we want opportunities that provide easy answers and quick fixes. God want us to be in this religion business for the long haul.

There are countless opportunities to start and get involved in ministry. The Association for Religious Data Archives reports that fifty-one percent of the people living in Miami County consider themselves unchurched. This is an opportunity to share Christ with those in our community.

One step in sharing Christ in the community is to be a good neighbor. In our culture, it is easy not to know our neighbors and they do not know us. Would you be willing to pray with your neighbor? "House Church Planting" and "Starting Community Ministries" are initiatives that have resources available for sharing our faith with those who live close to us.

Second of all, we can share Christ in our vocation. How do you represent Christ at your place of work? Luther says that the mom that changes the diaper is as influential in the Kingdom of God as the monks in the monasteries. He encourages us to do whatever we do to the Glory of God. He says when we excel in our vocations we witness to Christ.

Involvement in the worship life of the congregation gives us opportunities to serve our Lord. I believe when we read in church, greet and serve it is practice for how we live daily with others. I believe that studying God's Word and worshipping equips us to respond to opportunities we have for sharing the hope we have in Christ.

We could offer more opportunities to get involved in the church. This can only be accomplished if we work together and everyone gets involved. When God places on your heart the desire for a ministry in the church start examining ways you could facilitate the ministry. Sometimes you find the ministry is being done and you have the resources that can enhance and lift up the ministry by your participation.

As I look at the church I see opportunities abounding. I see unmet needs in people's lives. I see that people grow most in their faith when they are serving others. I see in this county a vast number of individuals who do not know Christ as their Lord and Savior. I see people who want to make a difference who say they do not know how. Christ tells his followers: "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matthew 5:11-12)

Opportunities to serve our Lord abound. They are not always appealing because they look like work. They are not always appealing because when we are serving our Lord, Satan attacks us. Grasp every opportunity. Serve the Lord with gladness. Your labor in the Lord is never in vain.

Gloria Rolofson says Thank You!
We would once again like to say THANK YOU to our amazing family, our friends, church family, my Mom's friends, and the entire community of Louisburg! You are dropping everything to come be with us when I need you, mowing our yard, cleaning up our landscaping especially the tree that had fallen down, putting down mulch, sending us scripture to encourage us, texting and emailing us to encourage us, remodeling our house, taking the kids to eat and have fun away from the hospital, painting, taking forms to the school district, cleaning, stocking our fridge, fixing our air conditioner multiple times, all the volunteers covering my church duties, taking Garrett to everything baseball related and helping prepare him for tryouts, taking care of our mail and Garrett's gecko, running to Sam's so my Mom doesn't have to, anonymously doing things to help us in ways to cover a variety of needs including things we are completely unaware of, covering us in prayer, and much, much more! We truly wouldn't be making it through this without each and every one of you!!! We are forever thankful and grateful! THANK YOU!!!!!

We continue to marvel at God's goodness. We give him all the honor, glory and praise for everything he has already done in Bob's recovery! We know he has a perfect plan and will as he guides us along this journey! Jeremiah 29:11-13.

Vacation Bible School 2015
2015 VBS Camp Discovery Logo
Thirty children were registered for "Camp Discovery" during Vacation Bible School. Fifteen of the children were from Christ Our Savior and fifteen were guests. The children enjoyed a meal for the start of their evening. Thank you Christine Fauss, Paul and Linda Richards (2 meals) and Beth Ramsey for providing the meals. Pastor Andy and Gracie Waite took turns and taught the children a Bible lesson each day. They also learned a daily Bible verse to song. Tricia Walania organized the crafts and Tricia, Mindy Bell and Sami Traffis led a daily craft. Thursday evening ended with an inflatable and the fire truck hosing everyone off - thanks Rich Walania and Chiefie Richards! The volunteers were important to having a successful VBS. Besides those listed above - thanks to Koell Smith, Heather Smith, Jamie Waite, Kelly Stohs, Tonya Noll, Adam Noll, Courtney Allen, Nate Walania, Garrett Rolofson and Grace Rolofson (hopefully we didn't miss anyone) and an extra big thank you to Kathy Richards and Bob Richards for being everywhere they were needed without being asked!

"YOU"th Group - Flockings
The flamingos have left for the season! But they'll be back!
Our youth group would like to say several "THANK YOUs" to all the families who participated in the flockings - either by helping to flock, being flocked or secretly flocking your friends. Thank you for being such good sports and having fun with us. We truly appreciate it! We raised approximately $355 towards our National Lutheran Youth Group Fund. We hope that you enjoyed the flamingo flockings. But don't fret if you didn't get to join in the flocking fun this season. Keep your eyes out next summer for their return. You never know where those silly pink birds will decide to flock. Will it be in your yard or not?

Here are just a few pictures from some of the houses we flocked this year!

The Stoh's got flocked twice - thanks for being such good sports!

"YOU"th Group - Carwash Fundraiser
We made $216 towards our National Lutheran Youth Group Fund at our Car Wash. We would also like to thank the church for donating the water for us to use for our car wash - THANK YOU! We would also like to say THANK YOU to our car washers - The Walania family - Tricia, Rich, Allison, Grace, Drew & Sam; The Smith Family - Heather & Koell; The Eickhoff Family - Gerry, Michelle, Christian & Micaela. We washed about 15 cars on Saturday, July 11. By the time it was all over, we were very hot, tired and extremely wet! But the kids said "it was fun - can we do it again!" Thank you to all who came out to support us!
