Important Information Regarding Registration for the

Due to the change from NC Wise (the current student records program) to Power School, all high schools in the state of North Carolina are required to have their master schedule for the 2013-2014 school year completed by April 26, 2013.  Myers Park High School is committed to meeting this deadline and providing the best customer service to our students and parents.  There will be a positive change in the way student scheduling requests will be processed.  On December 10, 2012, students will view a video in their 4th period class.  The video will provide course selection information for each grade level.  Parents and students will also be able to view this video via our wiki page.

 

Students will take home a registration card that needs to be reviewed with a parent.  Courses should be selected at that time.  Some courses will require a teacher signature and it is very important to gather the necessary signatures.  Students with questions will have an opportunity to meet with their counselors in the Media Center on December 11, 12 and 14 during their lunch periods.  MPHS will also offer a Curriculum Night on December 12 from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium, with break-out sessions immediately following the program to meet with counselors and department chairs.  In addition, parents will have an additional opportunity to meet with counselors on December 13 from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Media Center.  Counselors will see parents individually; however, parents will need to be respectful of the time allotted, as we expect a large turn-out.  Lastly, completed schedule cards should be submitted to the 4th period teacher by the end of the day on December 17.  The first five classes to return all registration cards will receive a pizza party.

December 12               6:30 - 8:00 p.m.  Curriculum Night in the auditorium.  Breakout                                             sessions for scheduling with counselors and department chairs

 

December 11, 12, 14   Counselors in Media Center to meet with students during all 5 lunches

 

December 13               7:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Parent Q&A in Media Center with                                                       counselors

 

December 17               All registration cards due to 4th block teacher (1st 5 classes to turn                                     in all registration cards get pizza party)
