Girl Scout Gold Award 100th Anniversary 
2016 is the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scout Gold Award and the Girl Awards team is in the process of collecting information about former Gold Award recipients.  Were you or do you know a Gold Award, First Class, Curved Bar, Golden Eaglet or Golden Eaglet of Merit recipient?  We want them to share their information with us! Share this survey- results are being compiled now!

Who Do You Share Your Cookies With? 
It's Girl Scout cookie season and we know you are enjoying your favorite Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Shortbreads and more! So we are asking our volunteers and social media followers to share a photo with us of you enjoying those cookies with your kids, troop, husband/wife, best friend or even your dog!

The photo contest "Who Do You Share Your Cookies With" will kick off on February 2 and photo submissions will be accepted through Tuesday, Feb. 16. To enter, e-mail a photo with your caption of who you share your cookies with to the Marketing Department. Two lucky winners will win a cookie prize pack, including a $10 gift card to Chick-Fil-A!

Troop Meets with Special Needs Class 
Girl Scout Brownie Troop 02677 has started meeting with a special needs class at Morgan Elementary. Once a month, they visit to make crafts, read and have a snack with them. The girls are loving their new friendships!
Girls Promote Positive Messages
Four independent Girl Scout Cadettes from Black Mountain made over 60 positive quote magnets that they distributed on random lockers throughout Owen Middle School. As part of their Take Action project for the aMAZE Journey, the girls wanted a way to encourage fellow middle schoolers.
Troop Participates in Parade 
Girl Scout Troop 02806 participated in the Banner Elk Christmas Parade. Their float won a trophy for best Christmas lights!
Troop Collects Donations for Local Ministry
Girl Scout Troop 41216 collected items for Sunnyside Ministries over the holidays. Items included toilet paper, toiletries and other essentials.
