When a 6.0 earthquake rattled California's Napa Valley during the height of harvest and tourist season in August, USA Today sought out the insight of Fine Vintage's Owner & Master of Wine James Cleur.
The area is home to nearly 800 wineries, many of which were affected by the earthquake, whose epicenter was about 9 miles south of Napa. James also works as a winery consultant and gave his thoughts on the effect of the natural disaster on the popular wine region. |
Provocateur is a textbook Oregon Pinor Noir from Jim Prosser, one of the most well-traveled and seasoned winemakers around. It pairs well with fall foods like salmon and pork loin and will also go nicely with Cranberry Sauce and sweet potatoes on the holiday table. Its notes of cherry, blueberry and rose are complemented by ripe fruit and vibrant acidity.
