It's name is certainly fitting, as 90% of the melon is water. But that doesn't mean watermelon's health benefits are watered down. Watermelon has high levels of lycopene, which is especially important for our cardiovascular health. Recent studies have confirmed the nutritional importance of allowing a watermelon to fully ripen. But how do you know when a melon is ripe?
